About
Howdy ya’ll! I am Andrew Kniowski the… well pretty much I’m just Andrew. I’m just a country kid sort of guy who did plenty of cow chasing and John Deere drivi’n before I got into biology. I really love nature, science, and photography -oh, and I enjoy fooling around with computers too.
Professionally I’m a full time grad student/research tech, pursuing a masters degree in Natural Resources at Ohio State University. Currently I’m working with the endangered Indiana Bat (Myotis sodalis) but over the years I’ve enjoyed working with many different species including some work with the Peaks of Otter Salamander (Plethodon hubrichti).
Photographically I’ve always said there are tons of pretty good photographers taking pretty good pictures of pretty much everything. In a photo-saturated world such as ours where a “pretty good” image is overly common, I strive to do something a little different. My goal isn’t to invent some radically new style but produce images that are better in subtle ways -often unnoticed but never missed. I surely haven’t arrived and I often fall into the trap of capturing nothing more than the ordinary but I strive to learn and do better on the next frame.
There is, of course, more to my life than this… but I have to leave something to blog about. If you need to contact me this is a great place to start. For those who are still confused -you may want to take a look at “An Into to Everything” or find the answer on the FAQ page.
